And the hits keep on comin'

I went to the doc today. I have hypothyroidism and possibly type 2 diabetes (more blood work needs to be done to determine if it's type 1 or 2, more than likely it's type 2). Both of these run in my family, yay for genes! It explains a lot though so I suppose I should be relieved right? Now I know what else is wrong with me, on top of Bi-Polar Disorder and PTSD...woohoo! Pills, pills and more pills...I remember when I was younger saying to my mom how I never ever wanted to be dependent on medication....boy, did I put the wrong message out into the Universe or what? On the bright side of this, I should lose a bunch of weight and will now be forced into eating way healthier :)....

**By the way, this is not an April Fool's joke, in case anyone was wondering since it is April Fool's Day...lol...**

  1. Hey big M...could you please invite me back to your blog (the Bush Family)..?
I am a "pills pills pills" girl too *haha!* Maybe they will give you Metformin for your blood-sugar...I have been taking that for a little while and like it.

  2. yeah, pills *sigh* the good news is that the thyroid problem is sooooo easily treatable and getting things balanced can make you feel better both physically and mentally. i keep thinking they are going to diagnose me one day and solve all my probs :)

anyway, i don't mean to make light. i am sorry you got a rough diagnosis, but glad you are getting support from your readers!

  3. I too may have hypothyroidism. I am 27, my little sis is 23 and she just had some tests done that show she may have it. Our mom had it, so its no surprise. I really don't want to have to depend on pills for the rest of my life, but hopefully if it is what is wrong with me, I will feel better. Will find out soon!

  4. hope you are doing okay with all they are throwing on your plate. My BFF was just diagnosed with PTSD and has a few other "joys" added like you. She started doing Derby which has brought her out of a bit of depression she was in. If you want they are always looking for Derby girls! =) I on the other hand, look silly in skates. I will email you soon.... hope you are doing well.
